In 1982 Jennifer Wren was working at Roaring Camp Café & Caterers in Old Oakland as a server. Peter and Tari Bowman, the owners, took a trip to Puerto Vallarta, bought a beach side restaurant and never came back!
Wren Creative Food was born out of this very fortunate event. A self taught chef, and initially, catering ‘copy cat’ extraordinaire, Jennifer Wren rescued Peter and Tari’s high and dry clients and has been creatively cooking ever since!
In between opening a restaurant, Parigi, in Dallas, Texas (her birthplace) in 1984, Lily’s Café in Sonora in 1990, Alchemy Market & Wine Bar in Murphys in 2001 & Wren Café in Murphys in 2009, Jennifer Wren has been catering and raising a family.
Jennifer Wren consistently creates menus inspired by the occasion and the season and presents them with an ease and elegance uniquely her own. Fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients are the basis of her inspired menus which range from the classically elegant to the rustic and whimsical. Wren caters private parties, weddings & corporate events of all kinds, you dream it, we do it! Wren promises to provide a feast for the eye as well as the soul.
